The Last Peep

I've just finished the last of the Bird People for the swap in which I'm participating. Onward and forward...I guess. I still have two more half-hearts to make for the Heart Journal swap and then I'm on my own. I want to get back to painting for a while with no deadlines. Probably not for long though because every time that I get on the computer to see what's happening in my art groups...I find something that I just have to jump in to. Sometimes it's a workshop and sometimes it's a swap or other kind of project....but they always seem irresistible. That's all for now. Bye.

More Peeps

Two more Bird-Peeps for the swap. I'm having fun creating these characters...but one more, and I'll be done. I may just make two....and keep one for myself. Once the swap is complete I'll have five of these little birds from five different artists...and, of course mine too. I'm thinking of making a front and back covers for the set and making a tiny book to keep them together. I have a gizmo with which I can make a spiral binding. That's all. Talk to y'all later.

Bird Peeps

Well here we are again...this time, as I told you in my last post, doing Bird Peeps. My first two are more of the Quack or Honk variety...but they are birds anyway...Birds in Fancy Dress. I had a heck of a time getting started. I think that I got to overthinking the project and temporarily fried my brain. But after a totally wasted day...and some thought about what I was doing that made my day so frustrating...I decided that I had sabotaged my work before I even started it. I curled up in my favorite chair with all 5 dogs either next to or on top of me and tried to work on a clipboard. Today I moved my work to a table and got a couple of these bird-ladies finished. I also managed to get the background work done for about 4 more. I may get this wrapped up in a day or two. Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!

Busy...busy...busy....

Over the last week or so I've been concentrating on getting pages drawn-collaged-painted-etc. for a heart journal page swap. Although I've made a lot of ATC sized (2 1/2 x 3 1/2) art in the past....I've been working on larger works lately. This swap is forcing me to work small again...and it's a challenge...but fun too. The rules are to do the front and back sides of a half-heart page....4" long and 2 1/4" at the widest part of the heart. Each participant has chosen a theme....so every half-heart page you make is different. You can also make a front and back cover for your little art journal. I only have two hearts to do...and I'm done! My theme is "Time for Tea"...and my front and back covers are all ready to go. You can see my heart pages on Flickr. (Bird Peeps look like birds dressed up as people) It's a 5/5 swap with no limit to the number of participants. If you send 5 of your pieces...you'll get 5 back...each by a different artist. Time is a ticking....got to go.
